About Us

Valle Secreto was born in the late 1990s as an idea shared by two men passionate about the world of wine, Antonio Puntí and Claudio Berndt, both from families that over several generations had built deep ties with the industry.

They dreamed of creating a unique winery focused exclusively on fine, high-quality wines with a strong expression of terroir. They were joined in this dream by an American investor, Richard Samale.

After a couple of years of searching, they found a "secret valley": a small corner at the southeastern end of the Cachapoal Valley, at the foot of the Andes, 132 km south of Santiago. They planted the vineyards, built a magnificent winery and, finally, from 2010 onwards, bottled their first vintages, which were shipped to destinations around the world — making real a dream that had begun years earlier and been carefully nurtured throughout that long period.

Before long, as a reward for their perseverance, major awards and scores began to arrive from the world's leading wine critics. Caring for the environment and sustainability became the philosophy that guides everything Valle Secreto does.

Today the Valle Secreto project remains in the hands of Claudio Berndt and his family, who are committed to preserving the dream born in the late 1990s for future generations.
